Cheryl Gould

CHERYL GOULD MRSS

After Foundation at Harrow School of Art and graduating from Kingston Polytechnic with a BA Honours degree in Fine Art / Sculpture, I started up classes for life drawing and sculpture at Harrow Art Centre, where I still run art workshops.

CHERYL GOULD MRSS

Always experimenting in my studio, I create 3D pieces using clay, wax, bronze & glass. I am passionate about colour. Drawing human figures always sparks off quirky ideas for sculpture, influenced by dance, theatre, mysterious masks, myths & magic.

BRIAN COWAN

BRIAN COWAN

As an advertising and TV art director Brian always intended to return to his art college roots as a trained fine art painter. When the day came to retire and change direction he set up a studio to create affordable oil and acrylic artworks to produce his much liked visual impact paintings of colour-rich botanics and still-life studies and the now popular female figurative artworks.

BRIAN COWAN

All very affordable oil and acrylic paintings and prints which include landscapes, still-life studies, botanic and figurative artworks to add colour to your life. Paintings from these categories can be found in collections in the UK and Europe, bought for their owner’s pleasure and expectation to appreciate in value.

NORMA STEPHENSON

NORMA STEPHENSON

I went to Art School in the days of back- combed hair, long side burns, enormous jumpers and very tight jeans. I dropped out and eventually trained to be a school teacher. I have experimented with basic ceramics, weaving, monoprinting, and various media over the years.
Although I predominantly works in Pastel, I use an under painting of watercolour or acrylic paint. Some of this underpainting will be left exposed, some just peeping through. This can reveal exciting marks to be exaggerated and worked into; splashing and dribbling paint and water into the soft pastel work all adds to building the painting.

Lawrence Mathias

I have worked on many different art projects for all kinds of clients, from arts organisations and trusts to schools and councils. Some of these projects have had quite tight budgets, but others have been very well funded with plenty of development time. I have done work for festivals, theatre shows, carnivals, touring events, community halls and private clients, amongst others. The media I use is very varied, from murals to mosaics to film. A lot of examples are included here, along with some information about each one
Please do get in touch if you’d like a bit more information about anything, I’d be delighted to hear from you.

NADEREH ( NADI ) SHANASSI

NADEREH ( NADI ) SHANASSI

I was never trained in art academically. But I got the taste for art after attending WEA classes run by Harrow based colleges and U3A classes and workshops. My passion for painting led me to join 4 art societies. I feel honoured and delighted to have won prizes for my paintings in the past. The first one was for “most amazing wildlife” my pastel ‘Owl’ ( 25 years ago) at Harrow Weald & Wealdstone Art Society. Then Harrow Art Society - Roy Rodgers President’s prize in 2010. Following with Radlett Art Society Exhibition - ’’Icy River’’ was Visitors Best Choice prize. More recently, 2019 Harrow Art Society Exhibition –I was awarded The Ian Wright Graphic glass trophy, judged by Cheryl Gould MRSS

A colourful poster of my painting “Lockdown Tale” is currently displayed on the platform of Radlett Train Station. Being chosen to be part of the Underground Art is quite an achievement for me. Being versatile, choosing any subject, trying my hand with any media is my motto.

MARY PELHAM

MARY PELHAM

Essentially an extremely talented watercolourist, Her exquisite work is appreciated and highly collectable. Mary has recently explored acrylics and inks. Her love for colour is central to her creativity. She particularly enjoys painting 'en plein air' mainly in sketch books which form the basis for ideas to develop her larger paintings. She is a member of local Art Societies, the Society of Women Artists, and has exhibited with the Marine Society at the Mall Galleries in London.

I paint different subject matter including still life, landscape, portrait, animals, and vary the medium to the subject. But my favourite medium is water based oil and acrylic and I love to paint close up and enlarged flowers sometimes to the point of abstraction. I love their colours and form. I have taught art to infants, juniors and secondary pupils. I have painted all my life around work and children so have a variety of work. I am a member of many art societies.

I trained at Royal Academy Schools London, and was awarded several prizes while still a student before graduating with degree in Fine Art Painting. I was a Senior Lecturer at Harrow School of Art, teaching for 14 years before moving on to work as Artist/Sculptor in the film industry for 18 years on most of the major productions in British studios and abroad. During this period I continued to paint and exhibit my work. Now I am a full time artist and teach painting at Harrow Art Centre, and give talks and demonstrations to art groups and societies. I am currently Vice Chairman of Harrow Art Society.

ROY RODGERS- PAINTER

"Kenneth Clarke once said 'the most important thing about painting is that it must be life enhancing.' To live with a painting by Roy Rodgers is a life enhancing experience, as he always shows us his way of seeing the world. He reveals the world to us, he celebrates the world and he communicates that celebration to us." Ken Howard O.B.E. R.A.
